For the Morning Star.

Bro. Burr: In the Star of the 21st ult., is an article, in which the amount that has been expended by the United States for the last sixty years for warlike purposes is given, viz., $685,930,802.27. The interest of this sum for one hour would build a meeting house at a cost of $4,698. The interest on the above sum would continually support 112,755 ministers at a cost of $365.00 each annually. To count the interest as fast as it would accrue, a person must count day and night without intermission at the rate of more than $78 a minute.
