Drive For Oct.
October has been designated as church attendance month by the Methodist Men's Club of the First Methodist (Old Stone) Church.
Plans are being made to stimulate attendance at all services of the church and it is hoped to make it a city-wide observance, pointing out the value of regular and systematic church attendance. As leaders of the movement point out, "Better Schools build Better Communities" and likewise spiritually healthy churches also build better character in both individual and community life.
Rev. R. A. Guy, D. D., Pastor of Old Stone Church, has selected the subject "Springs of Action" as the basis for his Sunday morning sermon and will speak on the subject "Thankful that the Church Exists" at the evening hour.
The Choir under the direction of Gerald Saunders will render the anthem, "Glory to the King of Kings" by Bonar at the morning service and will sing the well known selection "The Glory of the Lord" at the 7:30 service. Special violin and organ selections will be given by Mr. Saunders and Mrs. Joseph Sawyer, church organist, at both morning and evening services.
Visitors and home-folk alike will always find a warm and friendly atmosphere pervading at this historical old church.
