Invasion of England.
"Upon the subject of the intended invasion they state, that vast preparations are making all along the Coast of France; that there are a great many Gun-boats fitting out, and it was said that the Directory had given orders for all the vessels of every description at the different Ports to be got ready, which order they were putting into execution with all possible dispatch; and it is publicly spoken of, that the destination of this Armament is to invade England, and such report is very generally believed."

All the accounts say, that great preparations were making in all the extent of the French coast, for this object. All the vessels were getting ready; and the object openly avowed. The loss on the Irish expedition is as we have already stated it. Volunteer regiments are raising in every district of Scotland; and a very loyal spirit appears to pervade that kingdom. The troops have returned to their various cantonments.
