Plans Mass Meet
Atlanta Baptist Ministers' Union met Tuesday at Wheat Street Baptist Church. Devotions were led by Rev. H. Lester and Rev. C. H. Holland taught the Sunday School lesson. Rev. C. N. Ellis, president, presided. A city-wide Mass Meeting will be held at Mt. Zion Baptist Church, Rev. T. Tolbert pastor, Friday, December 8.
Rev. D. A. Dixon, chairman of committee on ministerial education, made a report. Rev. W. W. Weatherford, corresponding secretary State Baptist Convention, announced the State Convention to be held in Augusta next week, and invited the ministers to attend a mortgage-burning at Mt. Olive Baptist Church, October 22.
Rev. Holland reported that he will leave the city Monday, and Rev. I. Stone was appointed to teach the Sunday School lesson. President Ellis made an impressive speech on behalf of our state convention and challenged the ministers to support the work of the body. "We are bound for a bigger and better convention," he added.
Dr. Paschal made remarks. Two members joined the Union. Visitors were: Mother Walker, Prof. C. I. Harper, and Rev. W. L. Limsey.
