The Weather for some days past, has been intensely hot. Mercury rules high and cool beverages are in active demand. Shady retreats and "ice-fixins" are leading articles in the clothing line. Oh, when will the weather change?

By the by, it seems that the weather is hot in other places as well as here. The editor of the Pennsylvanian in speaking on this subject, says: "Four months ago we had to keep our ink-stand while writing, upon an old fashioned flat-iron with a heater in the inside; we now write with a tin cup tied under our chin to catch the perspiration."
