THE STATE PRESS ON FLORIDA POLITICS.

As good a way as any to secure an early constitutional convention, is to defeat every amendment offered until the legislature calls a convention. —Miami News-Record

'If the primary law is unconstitutional, change the constitution,' says the Pensacola Journal, and we believe this expresses the sentiment of the great majority of the people of Florida.—Wauchula Advocate.

The duty of voting should not be neglected by democrats, even if it is absolutely certain that every democratic nominee will be elected. In this district the vote for Hon. Frank Clark should be a heavy one as a testimony to the efficient work he has performed in congress for this district and in the congressional committee for his party.—Miami News-Record.

Hon. Don McMullen of Tampa, nominee for senator from Hillsborough county, has stated that he will introduce in the next legislature a bill to provide for the guarantee of bank deposits in Florida. It will doubtless become a law without much opposition and it is the opinion of many able men that such a law will be of benefit to both the banks and their depositors.—Punta Gorda Herald.

C. M. Brown of Ocala and later of Miami is traveling as one of the speakers in the interest of the democratic national ticket.

Which moves the Gainesville Sun to remark: 'The democratic party in the east must be hard up for speakers when they even consider propositions from Charles M. Brown, Jr. Is this the use to which campaign contributions are being put? If so, the Sun regrets its efforts.' Ah, there 'friend of mine.' That ought to hold you for awhile—but it will never ruffle the impervious atmosphere of good-natured gall that surrounds C. M. Brown, Jr., Son of the old man.—Lakeland News.

Hon. Don C. McMullen, senator elect from Hillsborough county, is studying the 'guarantee bank deposit plank' in the democratic platform with a view of having it enacted into a law in Florida. To one who has gone through two or three bank failures, as has been the ill luck of the editor of this paper, the law looks mighty good. Indeed it has a more inviting look and a sweeter flavor than peaches and cream. Had it been a law in Florida all along many a man would have been many a dollar better off and instead of depositing in tin cans, hollow trees and bed ticking these deposits would have found their way to the banks and entered into the channels of trade. It seems to us that it is the best law ever suggested.—Ocala Banner.
