COMPANY 'H' HIGHLIGHTS
By "Pop" William Iwasaki

During the past few days, a good number of our staff departed home after receiving honorable discharges. Most of them have been with this company for the past few years and have done their utmost in representing MISLS, especially for the newly inducted "rookies" who came here to learn the military trends, tactics "Kanji". These men are none other than our 1st Sgt William Sugano, Supply Sgt Masato Kajioka, Mail clerk, Sgt Alfred Okubo and Masato Harada. Our CO, Capt Shigeru Tsubota, staff and students members extend their best wishes and luck in their new field in the civilian world.

Thanksgiving has already come and gone, but it is appropriate to pause and again give thanks to God at this time. As we prepare to celebrate the first peacetime Christmas in four years, we can be grateful for being able to take part in this festive occasion. To many of us who come from the mainland, it will be the first Christmastide to be spent at home in many years. For all of us, it means that soon we will all be home for good. Let us, in this moment of joy, remember our buddies who will never again be able to trim a tree, buy Christmas presents, or eat Christmas dinners. It is because of their sacrifice that we are able to enjoy a Merry Christmas! It is because of them we must stick to our tasks, for as they serve in war, we serve in peace so that there may NEVER be another wartime Christmas.

At this time it's hard to concentrate on our work. We look forward to family re-unions. Pfc Richard Yamauchi did not get that blissful expression on his face from just singing Christmas carols. Could it be that his Mrs. is on her way from Tennessee to be here for the holidays with her ever handsome "hero"?

According to the wire received here, Pvt Tetsuo Kokubun became the proud father of a 7 lb. 12 oz. baby girl recently. The mother and child are doing nicely, but daddy is not; he has just recovered from a most trying pacing. How about passing out cigars, Tet?
