HAMBURG, August 15

SEVERAL agents have lately arrived here from Holland, in order to buy up cannon, small-arms, stores, &c. and likewise to hire transports to embark them in. They have ordered and bought upwards of 30 pieces of cannon for the use of an army, many thousand stands of small-arms, and several hundred barrels of gunpowder, &c. which are embarked on board ten sail of large transports that they have taken up and victualled for a three months voyage. Many conjectures are raised in consequence of these preparations; but the most prevalent opinion is, that they are meant to serve the continental army in British America.
