"The worm that's fled
Hath nature that intire will venom breed,
No teeth for the present."--
AARON BURR. In the press of the 18th ult. we stated the fact of Aaron Burr's being within seven miles of this city. Since that time we have seen articles in various papers stating him to have been seen in various parts of the United States, and others suggesting that he was gone to England. The fact is, that A. Burr is now in the city of Philadelphia. A gentleman informs me that he saw him within three days. From correct information we affirm, that Burr is in expectation of foreign aid, and has lately declared that he intends some time about April next to attempt the settlement of his Ouachita lands.
These are interesting facts, to which we call the attention of the Government and People of the United States, particularly those in the Western country. Let every person known to have been connected with Burr be vigilantly watched, and if any circumstance of a suspicious nature shall transpire, let it immediately be communicated to the government. In watchfulness there is safety: a careless security might be productive of evil.--Dem. Press.
