Henry Simmons, indicted for perjury after Mr. Goddard was acquitted of robbing him of 554 Ducats, was met on the road to Harwich by Mr. Ashley, who obtained a warrant and arrested him before he could ship to Holland. At Chelmsford, Simmons planted ducats in Ashley's pocket to falsely accuse him of the robbery, but was exposed and sent handcuffed to Justice Fielding in London for commitment.
