T U R I N. June 13.

From the camp near Nice we received the following:

The enemy to the number of 18,000 men, made a general attack upon our posts at Authion, Brois, Perus and Lineres, where we only had 6000 men. The latter of these posts having been abandoned, it occasioned the loss of Molinett. The camp of Perus, which has been evacuated by order of the general, also remained in the power of the enemy. But our troops having occupied the heights of Gogola, Brois, Alburea, Mangiabo and Baissa, defended themselves there during seventeen hours, by a most heavy fire, notwithstanding all the brisk attacks of the French.

Night alone put an end to the engagement. Immediately after, a council of war was held by Lieutenant General St. Andre, in which it was resolved to relinquish those posts, and to take a different position, in which our troops might cover Saorgio, and keep up a regular communication with the posts at Raus and Authion. The attacks on the enemy upon this latter post have availed nothing. All their attacks were received courageously, and they were finally repulsed with great loss, in which amongst others, the regiment of Calale, Acqui and Lombardy, under the command of generals Golli and Dellera, truly signalized themselves.

The loss which we suffered in this bloody engagement, may amount to about 600 men. The loss of the Chevalier de Valdenge, Lieutenant-Colonel of the regiment of Saluces, and 5 or 6 other officers, is highly lamented. Eleven officers were wounded.

The loss of the enemy amounts at least to between 4 and 5 thousand men.
