Scotch Can Be
Made Anywhere

Good Scotch doesn't have to come
from
Scotland. the national alcoholic beverage control association
was told yesterday. The U. S. version of the whiskey, according to
Lewis P. Weiner, is just as good.
Weiner. a Peoria, Ill.. distiller,
told
the
association's
convention
that
the
vital
grain,
water
and
peat
used
in
Scotland
is
being
matched
locally
or
duplicated
chemically
to
produce a
whiskey
at least as good.
Scottish distillers,
Weiner
said,
have no secret formula
that can
surpass the U. S. product.
