Full Text

From the Gazette de Litterature, des Sciences et Arts, printed at Geneva in December last.

ACROSTICHE.

REER une Marine : imposer à l'Anglais ;
Humilier l'orgueil de ce fier insulaire ;
HER
amener sur les flots, la liberté, la paix ;
tendre nos drapeaux sur un autre hémisphère ;
arier un joug injuste, et venger l'Amérique ;
Oter, au Roi des mers, ce titre fantistique ;
Céder, à nos destins, tout un peuple aguerri;
Rendre à nos ports l'éclat de leur splendeur antique;
Grand Roi ! tels sont tes faits : et douze ans t'ont
fait.

A Poetic Translation of the above is requested.
