Joseph Lewis, Secretary-Treasurer of the AFL-CIO Union Label and Service Trades Department, this week hailed the labor press as a potent force bearing heavy influence on the buying habits of millions of trade union members throughout the nation.
Lewis especially praised the newspapers and journals for the exemplary job done in carrying the message of past Union-Industries Shows into the homes of union members in all fifty states.
The multi-million dollar AFL-CIO Union-Industries Show—largest labor-management event of its kind in the world—is sponsored and produced each year by the national Department which Lewis heads. This year's show is set for May 6-11 in the Washington (D.C.) National Guard Armory.
Admission, as in all past Shows, will be free to the general public with thousands of dollars worth of valuable all-union gifts and prizes to be awarded those attending.
"Without the unusual cooperation our Department receives from the labor press," Lewis said, "It would not be possible to effectively reach the full union
