The sultan of Samarcand has sent emissaries into Bucharia, for the purpose of persuading the inhabitants to invade the northern parts of the empire, whilst the above Sovereign, at the head of 300,000 men, will proceed, towards the Caspian Sea. These accounts, whether doubtful, or at least exaggerated, have occasioned a private council to be called, when it was resolved to march towards that part of the empire, the troops who were ordered for Europe."
