Residents of Round Butte held a meeting Sunday, August 15, for the purpose of preparing for the Lake county fair. The meeting was called by O. B. Selfors, community chairman, and was well attended. At the session it was found that sentiment was strongly in favor of doing everything possible to help put Round Butte and Lake county on the map. It is understood that each committee will be held responsible for the special work assigned to it to make the undertaking a real success. At this time of the year when many prospective settlers are in the valley, the Round Butte people feel that it is important that the community be dressed up in its best clothes.
The following committees were assigned duties in various departments:
Corn, grain and grasses—John Swanson.
Domestic arts—Mrs. B. F. Johnson, Mrs. Theo. Freiberger.
Decoration committee—Clarence Henderson, Mrs. B. F. Johnson, John Swanson, O. B. Selfors, Mrs. Ray Turnquist.
Fruits and vegetables—L. W. Finfrock, I. A. Robertson, Carl Casserola.
Live stock and poultry—O. B. Selfors, Roy Atkinson, Mark Turnquist, Wm. Elgie, J. W. Cernik.
Bees and honey—B. A. More.
Dairy products and eggs—Mrs. John Swanson, Mrs. Theo Freiberger, Mrs. Ed Coyle.
Flowers—Mrs. B. A. More.
Finance committee—F. O. Artis, Clarence Henderson, Mrs. Ed Coyle, Mrs. Wm. McGourty, B. A. More.
