At the Superior Court held at Ipswich in the County of Essex, the last Week in June last, two Lads, viz. Joshua Heath, and Abiel Austin, junr. both belonging to Salem, in this Province, were indicted for uttering several false and counterfeit Dollars at Haverhill, and pleaded guilty: They were sentenced to pay a Fine of L. 10 Lawful Money each, and to suffer two Month's Imprisonment. and Heath to stand one Hour in the Pillory, which it is wished may deter others from the like Crime.---- It is supposed that the said counterfeit Pieces were forged at Salem aforesaid, by a Gang of wicked Persons that are combined for that End, and that these Lads were employed by them to put 'em off.
