The gas well at Murraysville, Pa., is still burning fiercely, the main being burnt off at the ground. The company has not yet found means to quench the flames. Other pipes having burst, the atmosphere of the vicinity is stifling from the gas. Two hundred men of one company are digging a ditch for the purpose of putting the pipes underground. It is estimated that nine million cubic feet of gas is escaping every hour, of which about three million feet is burning. Three deaths have resulted from the explosion.
