Full Text
The Press owes J. F. Wallace and Malcolm McLeod an apology for stating in the last issue that they had escaped from the Bismarck penitentiary. It was all a mistake; they have not escaped, as stated, but are still there serving as capable and trusted guards, and have no cause or desire to escape the punishment of a good round monthly salary being inflicted upon them by the territory. The item should have read: "Two prisoners under charge of J. F. Wallace and Malcolm McLeod escaped from the Bismarck penitentiary."
