Full Text

The Park.

A visit to the city park these days is well worth the time occupied in making the trip. To the tax-payer the prospect is especially pleasing. Very few of the trees were injured during the winter, and many are budding nicely. City Engineer Miller has laid out a serpentine walk over the southwest block of the enclosure, and workmen are cutting the paths. These walks will be properly riprapped and covered with sand, making a very pretty and pleasant route through the grove. The landscape gardener is preparing for his campaign by removing trees from the ground in which he will operate. This gentleman has prepared some exceedingly handsome designs for flower beds, and it is expected that his work will be very satisfactory. Mr. Altnean's patent sprinklers are constantly playing upon the greensward, and clover and grass are growing rapidly.
