HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES
Dec. 31.
The enrolled bill providing for the disposal of sundry copies by the troops of the United States, was reported, and signed.
The subject of a bill for a mail from Wilmington to New Orleans, was resumed and referred to a committee of the whole.
The navy of the United States appropriation bill passed to be engrossed. (The total amount of the appropriation is 1,240,000 dollars.)
The 1805 appropriation bill for the support of government, was read twice, and referred to a committee of the whole.
Mr. Gregg called up the resolutions for recession of the district of Columbia. &c. This was opposed, and after some desultory remarks, a motion to postpone the consideration of them until Monday next prevailed. For it 59, against it 31.
Mr. Rodney had leave of absence for two weeks. He is employed as counsel in the persecution of the Pennsylvania Judges.
Jan. 2. The bill for dividing the Indiana Territory into two governments, was referred to a committee of the whole.
The Post-Master General, agreeable to Mr. Randolph's motion, presented a list of the particulars required respecting contracts for carrying the mails.
