Says Players Were Not Hurt.

Editor, Barre Times: I read in your paper of Oct. 23 a statement to the effect that the Spaulding football players who rode in my father's car, which I was driving, were injured somewhat when the car skidded and tipped over on its side. I ask you to please correct this statement.

The boys were uninjured and in good spirit after the accident. Several of them played in the Spaulding-Newport game and did some hard fighting for Spaulding.

The accident happened while going down a hill between Barton and Orleans. The wheels struck some ice and began to skid. Seeing a bank in front, I attempted to steer the car to the other side of the road, but the rear wheels skidded rapidly and tipped the car on its side near the center of the road. The occupants clambered out of the unobstructed side and it was found that no one was injured, as I said before.

G. Lucchina.
