East-Indies.--The British inhabitants of Calcutta have congratulated the Marquis WELLESLEY, the governor general, in an address signed by 540 names, on the restoration of peace to the continent of India and the important national advantages acquired under his guidance by the brilliant success of the British arms. They have also resolved to erect a marble statue of his excellency at Calcutta, and to present a Sword to Gen. Lake, value £1500 sterling, and another to Major gen. Wellesley, value £.1000.
