Emporia, Kan., Nov. 1.--The Democratic rally advertised for to-day, has been a pronounced success. A great crowd was present, gathered from all parts of the county. The procession in the afternoon was a very large affair, participated in by clubs from Reading, Hartford, Americus, Strong City, Council Grove, and the Cleveland and Hendricks and flambeau clubs of Emporia, with music by four bands. The special features of the parade were liberty wagons laden with bevies of beautiful girls appropriately arrayed and the marching of 100 little boys and girls on foot carrying a banner inscribed, "Future Oklahoma Colonists." This latter feature was arranged under the supervision of the Emporia branch of Oklahoma colony. Gov. Glick arrived at 3:30 from the east on a special train, and in a carriage drawn by six pure white horses was escorted to the opera house where he delivered a speech an hour and a half to a large audience. In the evening the various flambeau clubs paraded and with the aid of fireworks made a very creditable display. Following were speeches at the opera house by A. A. Harris, of Fort Scott, and Joseph E. Riggs, of Lawrence. An overflowing meeting was addressed by James A. George, of Washington. Altogether it is conceded to be the largest Democratic demonstration held in the state this year and in all its features has been most creditable.
