THE M'NALLY ROBBERY.

Detectives at Work Trying to Unravel the Mystery.

Detectives Weedon and Parkham are still at work trying to unravel the mystery of the theft of $1,000 from a trunk belonging to Miss Maggie McNally, a pantry woman employed at the Cochran Hotel, several days ago. James Peyton, colored. also an employe of the hotel, is still held at the Sixth precinct station on suspicion of grand larceny. He will probably be taken into the Police Court today and committed to jail to await complete investigation of the case. He denies his guilt.

Yesterday Detective Parham visited Philadelphia in connection with the robbery. He returned here last night. It is not thought he secured any new evidence against the accused. A reward of $100 has been offered by Major Sylvester for information that will establish the guilt of the real thief.
