Nov. 14. We hear that a Letter from M. de Montcalm at Canada to the Ministry of Versailles, hath been intercepted; and that in this Letter Montcalm assures them with great Concern, that without a Peace, that Country cannot possibly hold out beyond the Middle of next Summer: And therefore he implores them to make Peace on any Terms; adding, that, let the Concessions in America be as great as they will, if 30 or 35 Soldiers (which on a Peace may be easily spared) be sent to him in each Ship that goes out, he will undertake in a few Years to recover every Inch of Ground which they shall be forced to yield by the Treaty of Peace.
