The capture of Belfast and Castine,
As mentioned in our last, is confirmed— They landed about two thousand troops from 25 sail of British ships and took possession of Castine—The U. S. troops composing the garrison consisted of about 150 men, who blew up the fort and made good their retreat to Buckstown. The British then sent 900 men to Belfast, and took possession of that place—A ship, two brigs and two or three tenders, had proceeded up the river. At the last dates this force was within six miles of the Adams, rated 32 guns, and that Captain Morris had landed his guns, and was, with a body of militia which had assembled determined not to 'give up the ship'.
