What is this article about?
A resident complains about the neglected state of the road from Pascagoula to Rex Hall, calling it a disgrace to Scranton and Pascagoula. Urges authorities to repair it or suggests erecting toll gates on the private road to fund fixes, comparing unfavorably to neighboring areas like Bay St. Louis and Biloxi.

Editor Democrat-Star,
In your next issue allow me space to call attention of the public to the neglected state of the road from Pascagoula to Rex Hall with the view of having same put in a proper state of repair. It is simply a disgrace to Scranton and Pascagoula, and tells in words of woe a fatal fact which loudly calls for remedy. If the authorities are indifferent to this great necessity, now preventing many from enjoying a delightful drive on the coast and exposing the residents to damages in getting home from a late train, then it is a clear course of duty for those most interested to take the matter in their own hands, and at certain intervals erect toll gates to raise a sufficiency for the road repairs. This is perfectly legal, as the road is private property nothing public but the bare beach unless otherwise reserved and sustained passable and permanent. Why are we not like our neighbors at Bay St. Louis, Pass Christian or even Biloxi and Ocean Springs?
Yours truly,
WONDOR.
