CRAFTS SHOP GETS FIRST ORDER OF EQUIPMENT

The long-planned Arts and Crafts Shop for Valdez is nearer an actuality than ever, Rev. Richard Teeter announced last week.

A commercial-size floor sander and a commercial-size floor polisher already have arrived for the shop.

Reverend Teeter, who will supervise and organize the work of the Arts and Crafts Shop, recently was granted a building by the Women's Civic Club, to use for shop headquarters. He plans to repair the structure and to move it to a prominent downtown location.

In time, it is hoped that the shop will carry a full line of tools and materials for the use of both adults and children.

Classes at the shop will include special instruction in ivory carving, plastic and lapidary work.

Furniture manufacture, repair and upholstery also are to be a part of the shop's courses. Later it is hoped to extend the work to other woodworking projects.
