THE LATE TARIFF BILL.

We find numerous anonymous writers (we presume they are manufacturers, in every sense of the word) are still contradicting our assertion that the late Tariff bill would have left a deficit in the Treasury if it had become a law, of ten or twelve millions of dollars. Well. they can contradict us. But we assure them we stated truly. True, Mr. Forward was away, but had he been present, he would not, and could not, have made the calculations himself—they would have been confided to the identical officers that made them in his absence.
