Dear Brethren,
The vineyard of God in this vicinity has been for a time past afflicted with a tedious drought which has occasioned many of her plants that once appeared prosperous to wither and die. Yet during this period a few endeavoured to draw water from the wells of salvation which they frequently did to the joy of their souls. But now the gracious Redeemer is causing his face to shine, and the refreshing showers of his grace to fall and water his garden. Old professors are considerably awakened in their feelings, and for two months past a number for the first time have openly avowed their love for Christ and his cause, some of whom have already been baptized, and others are intending to be soon. A protracted meeting held here last winter and the quarterly meeting in June were blest to the good of the people. In other parts of the town there have been some conversions in the course of the past summer; also in the south west part of Stanstead, where Eld. David Cross has labored some, the Lord has revived his work among his people, and finally the prospect in a number of places in this section at present is quite encouraging, and we are hoping for a general reformation.
For the satisfaction of my friends in Maine I would say my health is unusually good. Yours, &c.
Nathan J. Robinson.
