NEW HAMPSHIRE.

In one week from to-day the election for State Officers and Members of Congress takes place in New Hampshire. The contest is already warm, and the main part of the fight is between the locofoco party. Henry Hubbard is supported by the party called by Gov. Hill "the Federal Radical Lawyer Party," while the other portion of the party, headed by Gov. Hill support for Governor, John H. White, of Lancaster, and which party claims to be the real democratic party. The Whigs support for the same office, Gen. Anthony Colby, of New London, and the 3d party support Gen. Hoit of Sandwich. The three last named candidates for Governor were "war democrats" in 1812, while Hubbard was a Hartford Convention federalist, who, by the way, has enlisted in his support as the advocates of modern democracy, most of those now living who agreed with him in political matters in 1812. The Hill party object among other things, to the Federal Radical ticket on the score of the professional pursuits of the gentlemen candidates and puts down three of them as Lawyers, and the 4th thus, John R. Redding, swearer".-alluding to Redding's well known character as an outrageous blasphemer of his Maker.]

Hubbard will, without much doubt, be defeated before the people, but may possibly squeeze in through the House, tho' that is not quite certain.

The Bellows Falls Gazette alluding to Hubbard, tells the following anecdote of his former success when seeking the office of U. S. Senator:

"Hubbard is a cunning fellow - it is said that in 1840 being anxious to secure a re-election to the U. States Senate, he visited Concord, during the session of the Legislature, sought out every member of the democratic party, visited them in their rooms and boarding houses, and by his fulsome and hypocritical enquiries after the health and condition of the wives and children of sundry old bachelors, completely disgusted many and finally skulked away mortified and chagrined at his futile operations. He of course was not elected Senator!"

The election for State Officers and Members of Congress in New Hampshire features a warm contest mainly between factions of the locofoco party. Henry Hubbard is supported by the 'Federal Radical Lawyer Party,' while Gov. Hill's portion supports John H. White of Lancaster as the real democratic party. Whigs back Gen. Anthony Colby of New London, and the 3d party supports Gen. Hoit of Sandwich. The last three were 'war democrats' in 1812, unlike Hubbard, a Hartford Convention federalist. The Hill party objects to the professional pursuits of Hubbard's ticket candidates, labeling three lawyers and John R. Redding a 'swearer.' An anecdote from the Bellows Falls Gazette recounts Hubbard's failed 1840 bid for U.S. Senate re-election due to his hypocritical tactics.
