Scalded to Death.-On the 30th ult. A young child of Parker Patterson, who resides near Eldorado, in Monroe county, met with a fearful death. It was washing day and the child had been playing in the room where the mother was at work washing. The mother had lifted a boiler of scalding hot water from the stove upon the floor for a few moments, while she did some other work. Her back was turned to the child, when she heard a heartrending scream, and on turning around she beheld the little child lying face downward in the scalding water. For an instant the mother was paralyzed, but the child was instantly taken out and cared for, but its scalds were so severe that it died in a short time. The age of the infant was 17 months. The loss is a great one to the agonizing parents. We learn from the Miner.
