Splendid Meat Show—In accordance with his advertisement, published in this paper on Saturday, Mr. John P. Sledd had an exhibition of the contents of his stall on Saturday morning. We were not present, but we understand that it was a show which was very hard to beat. The character of Mr. Sledd, as a furnisher of substantials, is so well known that few people doubted that he would be as good as his word. Yet, though expectation was on tiptoe, he surpassed even expectation. We like exhibitions of this kind. They stimulate the whole market, and result beneficially to the entire eating public; that is to say, to all the world and the rest of mankind. Mr. S. has led the way. Which of our friends will follow in the footsteps of their illustrious predecessor?
