LATE FROM LISBON.

By an arrival at New-York; Lisbon papers have been brought up to the very late date of the 26th of August; at which time no news of a battle had been received there. Lord Wellington's head-quarters still remained at Celorico, and those of Massena near Almeida; upon which place the French commenced a bombardment on the night of the 16th of August. It is defended by General Cox, with a garrison of 3000 men.

The English army was sickly of the fever and ague; 3500 infantry, and 800 cavalry had arrived near Corunna, and more were daily expected.

The French were short of provisions.
