Residents living in the vicinity of Third street, east of Carson, are complaining vociferously over the condition of the sewer that passes through that avenue. There seems to be an insufficient supply of water for flushing purposes, and as a result offal and other matter remains in the bottom of the ditch and putrifies, creating stench and flies and breeding disease. Vegetation is also permitted to grow rank from the sides and bottom of the ditch and its decaying effluvium produces some obnoxious effects.
