Full Text

Feb. 19. Letters from Belgrade tell us, That the Turks sent a Detachment of Two Thousand Men to surprize the Fort of Bitritz; but the Imperial Garrison, consisting of 1500 Men, having Notice of their March, laid an Ambush for those Infidels, and gave them such a warm Reception, that happy was the Turk that was the best Runner, or had the swiftest Horse: They went back without their Errand, and very far short of the Number they came with. Though the Germans gained the Field, the Mussulmans won the Race.
