Full Text

New York, April 12.
Much ado for nothing—It will be recollected that a Grand Jury has recently been sitting in Philadelphia for the space of four months, during which period about six hundred bills of indictments were found for transactions relative to the teas of Edward Thompson. And it will also be recollected, that two or three of our citizens were included among the indictments. A letter is now before us from a member of the Philadelphia bar, of last evening, from which we learn that the U. S. Attorney yesterday appeared in the Circuit Court, (Judge Washington presiding,) and discontinued every suit, and ordered a nolle prosequi to be entered in each. It is understood that this course was taken in pursuance of the opinion of the Attorney General of the United States, in consequence of the late decision of the Supreme Court. "Great cry and little wool," as old Mr. Beelzebub said when he sheared the hog.
Com. Ado.
