Test Of Municipal Dam
Proves Satisfactory

WILLIAMS-The test of the repaired dam, recently completed by Jim Hudson, manager of the city water system, proved entirely satisfactory. Holes were drilled into the new cement work and the pressure applied but not a leak could be forced.

While the real test of the dam will be the water itself when the dam is full, there is good reason to believe that no leak will develop. If a pressure pump cannot drive water through the cement impregnated earth, it does not seem possible that the much lower pressure supplied by the impounded water could do so. In case a leak does remain it can certainly be repaired by the process applied.

The test of the repaired municipal dam involved drilling holes into the new cement work and applying pressure, which forced no leaks. Confidence exists that it will hold against impounded water, with repairs possible if needed.
