Full Text
There is more money already levied and collected than the teachers can get. We are opposed to levying or collecting any more money for schools till that already collected has been accounted for. The cry is always "levy and collect," but never do you hear a voluntary invitation, "come and get your money." When the teachers-except a favored few, who are in the ring-get anything at all, it is after they have waited and pinched themselves along for months after their money was due; and they get it in driblets; and even these driblets are paid out with all the agonies and reluctance with which a man submits to the pulling out of an eye-tooth.-Edgefield Advertiser.
