Jacksonville Lumber Company Virtually Hidden By Timbers

The Jacksonville Lumber company's mill now has more lumber around it than at anytime in the past two years, at least, that's the way it appears to Charles E. Warn, manager of the plant which last week was leased to Contractors Contract NoV-6007.

The contractors, experienced difficulties in securing lumber for construction work at Camp Lejeune leased the plant to produce a supply of lumber exclusively for New River.

Then they went out and bought lumber nice materials, too--that was left over from building other camps in this state.

Thus, all last week about 20 to 30 truck loads of lumber arrived daily--coming from Camp Seymour Johnson at Goldsboro Camp Hoffman at Hoffman and from Greensboro.

"You can hardly see the mill for the lumber." Warn said to give an idea of how it felt again to be working lumber.

The lumber is being cut, trimmed and re-dressed to meet specifications at New River.
