Plan To Acquire Park Land Told By Commissioner

A plan of coordination between the Fulton County Parks and Recreation Commission and the Public Works Department in appraising property to be acquired by the Parks Department was announced Wednesday by Floyd Hunter, Chairman of the Parks and Recreation Commission. Before acquiring future property for the Parks Department, an estimate will be submitted to the Department by the Public Works Department outlining the costs involved in clearing, grading or construction to make the property fit for use. The plan will save the county thousands of dollars annually," Mr. Hunter stated. Other actions of the Commission included acceptance of a report that land for Peachtree Hills Park had been purchased and that an alternate site be selected for the West End Heights playground.
