Letter From Louisa County.

[Correspondence of the Alexandria Gazette.]

LOUISA C. H., June 26.--This has been a great day in Louisa, and there was a large turn out of the voters, whites and colored, to hear Mr. G. C. Walker. The meeting commenced at 11 o'clock, and Lewis McKenzie and Mr. Hunnicutt spoke. The latter spoke with much force for nearly two hours, and his remarks, it is said, had a happy effect. He was interrupted several times by Barney McCracken, who says he formerly lived in Alexandria, is deputy internal revenue inspector for this district, and President of the Colored Union League. He is looked upon as King of "Dahomey," and talks of his black subjects as if they were his slaves, and did what he could to prevent their listening to the speeches made. He is said to aspire to be county candidate for the Legislature. Hunnicutt answered all his questions promptly, and turned the laugh on Barney most decidedly. On the arrival of the Central train Mr. Walker arrived, and after dinner spoke, as did Judge Ould, of Richmond followed by Mr. Gilmer, in a very fine address. Mr. Hunnicutt again spoke, and at this time (6 o'clock) the meeting is still going on. All agreed that nothing was now to be done but to complete the work on the 6th of July: and the victory would be ours by such a majority as would astound the people of Virginia themselves. The excitement is intense, and equals the campaign of 1850 and 1864. Hunnicutt was particularly severe upon Wells, Bond, Samuel, Padley and Whittlesey. This is probably the only county in the Seventh District which will give a majority for Wells, and that will be small. The registering in this county shows an increase of : , over two-thirds being white.
