Novelist's Magazine.—We have received the first number of this new periodical, the prospectus of which, we advertised a few weeks since. A late publication, entitled "Henry Masterton," by the author of "Richelieu," "Philip Augustus," &c. is selected for the first number, to be concluded in the second. We think it decidedly one of the best works that the novel-writers have of late laid before the public. It is one of that kind of novels from which much of history may be learned, savored with the honied details of fiction. In this tact of blending history with fiction, the author (Mr. James) is not equalled by any romance-writer of the present day.

The typography of the work is handsome, and it will make at the end of a year, two elegant volumes of a quarto size, containing more than 600 pages each.
