PORTSMOUTH.

By an Express from our Regiment, who arrived here last Wednesday, we are informed, That an Express came to Col. Goffe the 17th Inst. from Major Rogers, with Advice that a large Body of French and Indians had landed upon the East Side of Lake Champlain, and it was feared were designed to attack our Regiment, who were encamped on Goffe's Road, 18 Miles above No. Four. the Road being finished 23. -- That our Men were all well and in high Spirits, having lost but one Man out of the Regiment.
