The Republican Central Committee of Waupaca recently considered that a convention be held on the 4th to Rep candidates for the ensuing county tickets including one County Assessor. An Act in the Legislature, approved March 14, 1864, provides that Assessors shall be elected at the general election in eighteen hundred and sixty-eight, and every four years thereafter, in each MS county in this state, who shall hold their offices for four years.
