The Backstage Club was the scene of the gathering of approximately 100 members of the press, Chamber of Commerce members and motel managers Sunday evening, Jan. 18, in conjunction with the Sombrero Playhouse, celebrating their 10th Anniversary.
A champagne cocktail party preceded a gourmet's dinner.
The climax of the evening was an announcement made by Richard Charlton, producer, that on March 3, the Sombrero Theater will present the World Premiere of "Dear Liar," starring Katherine Cornell and Brian Aherne.
Mr. Charlton also announced the establishment of Phoenix's American Foundation for Theater Arts, for the training of young talent in the theater, particularly from Arizona.
