Holmes County Training School

The students and faculty of Holmes County Training School are very proud to see one of their students and classmates back from the navy. Nimrod Pearson was a student of the 11th grade. He is now stationed at Great Lakes Training Station, Illinois. He has completed his basic training.

Prof. C. H. Lynch was visited this week by his sister from Chicago, Mrs. Edna Yarbrough.

The senior class is presenting their play April 18. They say it will be the best for the season.

The 9th grade is presenting a "mock faculty" Monday night 16th.

The Luxis Club is presenting a rooster to some one whose name is the lucky name April 18, at the senior play.

A prize will be given to the one who sells the highest amount above 10 will be given a prize. If you need a rooster buy a ticket and see if your name is the lucky one.

There is a fine spirit in the sporting world, the children of Holmes county are learning to take on more sporting standards. The volley ball is very interesting to some and soft ball to some. George Sample has made the farthest hit this week. Wonder who will have it next week.

Margaret Ellis and Jimmie Ruth Shines had a very good time at the Luxis club meeting held at Yazoo City last week end. They were both contestants and lost, but they did not breathe a discouraging word about their lost. They are good sports.
