The Milwaukee County League of Women Voters last night at the Schroeder hotel, joined the Milwaukee County Federation of Women's clubs in condemning the action of 13 non-partisan aldermen in signing a telegram urging Gov. Walter Kohler to sign bill 262S.

The bill would force amenders or revisors of the city charter to designate specifically any portions of the charter or state law which might be repealed or amended.

Commend Women's Clubs.

The resolution also commends the Federation of Women's clubs for its action.

The resolution follows:

"Whereas, A telegram signed by 13 members of the Milwaukee common council to Gov. Kohler, urging him to sign the charter bill, and, whereas, said bill provides that every provision repealed by the adoption of a new charter, shall be specifically designated, and, whereas, the enactment of said law, has brought about a situation unfavorable to the submission of a new charter recognized as an essential need in the city of Milwaukee.

Aldermen Are Condemned.

"Therefore, Be it resolved, that the league commend the County Federation of Women's clubs for their successful efforts to secure the names of those members of the common council who sent the telegram.

"And, be it further resolved, that we heartily condemn such unauthorized efforts on the part of public officials as misleading and dangerous, and that the league of women voters join its efforts to those of other organizations seeking repeal of the law."
