WASILLA--Potato harvest absentees, as well as strikebound school supplies, prevented much activity in the Wasilla school during the past week, Superintendent James Pendleton said last Monday.

However students who came to school last week were busy on two activities--preparation for the first issue of Hi-Lite, student publication expected to go to press about Oct. 1, and the painting of basketball court lines on the gymnasium floor.

Mr. Pendleton said he expected the community to begin organizing PTA work in Wasilla early in October. Although no actual PTA chapter exists, Wasilla residents do elect a chairman each year and conduct a limited program of PTA work.
